Have copied entire folder of a VM template from one environment to another by copying onto an HDD and uploading to a Blade local storage. Blade has ESXi 4 Update 1 Enterprise Plus. No VM's or Service Console exist ont he blade at this time.
Accessing the Blade via Vsphere Client on a locally attatched desktop. This is how I copied the folder of the template, made for a network test scenario on the original environment. Intention is to deploy on second environment in order to create some VMs and Service Console.Copying process is fine. I can access every file through the datastore of the local storage of the blade. I can right click on the template and add to inventory, naming it appropriately.
When attempting to power on the template from the inventory, the error message "File was not found". Entire folder of the VM has been copied, nothing else in the folder can be added to inventory or expanded/inflated.
any ideas?
